Hancock Lakes

Fishing Info
DSC01280-3.jpg

The Hancock Lakes are just south of the old mining town of St. Elmo. While making your way in, you'll see all sorts of abandoned infrastructure stemming from the previous mining activity in this area. Just before St. Elmo, turn left onto FR 295, and travel 5 miles back to the "alpine tunnel" trailhead. From here, make your way up by foot or OHV to Upper or Lower Hancock, both of which boast incredible cutthroat trout fishing.

Current Conditions

Iced-Off and accessible! Be aware of afternoon storms at this elevation, and watch for spawning fish. Otherwise, have at it!
