Located within the Collegiate Peaks Wilderness right by Mt. Elbert, Twin Lakes is a beautiful, higher elevation reservoir with stunning mountain views. This lake holds brown, rainbow, and lake trout. The “Mackinaw” here are a big attraction for many anglers around the state, with fish exceeding 40 inches caught every year. Fish from shore or take a boat out to more effectively access the depths of these two large lakes.

Current Conditions

Twin Lakes are fully ice-free and open for the 2022 season. This includes the boat ramp and all public access areas. Fresh rainbows have been stocked and the lakers are hungry!
